Power Generation Sources and Carbon Dioxide Emissions in BRICS Countries: Static and Dynamic Panel Regression
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: The threat of global warming has escalated as a result industrialization, urbanization, population growth, and lifestyle changes in Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS). amount electricity generated by various sources is directly influenced their respective carbon dioxide (CO2
) emissions. This study’s primary goal to determine which are bad for the environment not.
Methodology: Examining impact different energy generation on CO2
emissions using data from BRICS. To analyze data, pooled OLS Generalized Method Moments (GMM) used, well Quantile Regression (QR).
Findings: We found that coal gas power had positive large influence regardless method used. As compared other emissions, coal-fired production more significant impact. In all regression models, hydroelectric renewable can reduce emissions.
Originality: Identifying an empirical link between most accomplishment. obtain solid results, paper used combination QR GMM techniques. conclusions presented this article have important environmental policy consequences. CO2 be reduced reducing consumption fossil fuels promoting development alternative such hydroelectric, wind, solar power.

Economic and Environmental Factors Determining the Amount of Carbon Dioxide Emissions in the MENA Countries
Abstract: The gradual warming of the earth and its negative environmental and economic impacts contributed to pay attention to sustainable development considerably. Since climate change is a major cause of greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2, countries are seeking to prevent the rapid growth of emissions to reduce global climate change. Accordingly, and considering the importance of the sub...
متن کاملstudy of relationships between carbon dioxide emissions and gdp per capita based on panel data
abstract this study investigates casual relationship between co2 emission and gross domestic product per capita in five different country groups, using cross- country data for the period 1960-2007. to achieve the purpose, the co- integration test and error correction models are applied. results confirm casual relationships between the two variables. a unilateral relationship between gdp and co2...
متن کاملReducing Carbon Dioxide Emissions
DEBATE ABOUT the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere, and fears that it will result in an intensification of the Greenhouse Effect and global warming, have spurred consideration of sustainable development. It has been claimed that technology to improve energy efficiency already exists that is cost-effective without consideration of the gains from abatement of carb...
متن کاملPrediction of Carbon Dioxide Emissions Using Fuzzy Linear Regression Model: a Case of Developed and Developing Countries
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emission is an important component in the stability of climate system, and plays a key role in green house effect. In the past few decades, CO2 emissions have increased exponentially. Goodall (2007), in his book mentioned that almost 30 billion tons of CO2 enters the atmosphere as a result of various human activities each year. The effect of the higher concentrations of CO2...
متن کاملSTATIC AND DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF CARBON NANOTUBE-BASED NANOTWEEZERS
In this paper static and dynamic response of nanotweezers composed of two carbon nanotube (CNT) arms are investigated. Taking into account a continuum model and considering the electrostatic actuation as well as the presence of the van der Waals forces, the static nonlinear equations are solved by a step by step linearization and Galerkin projection method. Simulating the closing dynamics of a ...
